Board approves tennis-court contract and 2026-27 calendar; consent agenda passed

The Blue Valley Board of Education on Feb. 10 approved several routine items with little debate, including a contract for replacement of the tennis courts at Blue Valley Northwest and the district’s 2026-27 calendar.
McConnell and Associates Corp. contract: The board approved a contract with McConnell and Associates to fully replace the aging tennis courts at Blue Valley Northwest. The courts, installed in 1993, will be removed and rebuilt this summer, including new surfaces and replacement of fences, a district presenter said. The motion to approve the McConnell and Associates contract carried unanimously, 7-0; the board record shows the motion was made and seconded and passed with all members voting in favor.
2026-27 calendar: The board adopted the 2026-27 school calendar as presented after staff said the draft had been posted online and that the district had received minimal community feedback. The motion to adopt the calendar passed 7-0.
Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda as published; that motion also passed 7-0.
No additional budget figures or contract dollar amounts were given in open session for the McConnell contract during the synopsis presented to the board; staff said the tennis-court replacement was part of planned replacements under the district’s 2023 bond plan.
