OKCPS board adopts revised student transfer policy and upholds superintendent transfer denials

After regular business the board approved the consent agenda unanimously (7–0). The board then voted 7–0 to enter executive session to consider items listed on the agenda; the executive‑session compliance statement read aloud afterward said the board discussed transfer appeals and the superintendent’s evaluation and took no action in closed session.
When the board returned to open session, Board member Juan Lacona moved to uphold the superintendent’s decisions to deny the transfer appeals discussed in executive session, citing adherence to state law and board policy; Jessica Cifuentes seconded the motion. The board recorded seven yes votes and zero nays, and the motion carried.
Board Clerk Craig read the executive session attendance and compliance statement, and the record noted no actions were taken during the closed session itself. The meeting adjourned after a final procedural vote.
