The Natrona County School District #1 board set its meeting agenda by motion and then unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included executive session and general session minutes, certified and classified personnel reports, district bills and a contract for a major maintenance construction manager.
Superintendent Tim Hensley presented three grant items for board action. Trustees accepted a nearly $590,000 school improvement grant from the Wyoming Department of Education intended for targeted academic improvements in nine schools; a $3,777 grant from the Wyoming Department of Workforce to purchase an industrial label printer; and a $12,000 award to the district’s engineering and robotics program tied to CY Middle School’s state‑level win in a Samsung Solve for Tomorrow competition.
A motion to accept the reports and recommendations was made and seconded; trustees approved the recommendation by voice vote. The meeting record shows the consent agenda and the subsequent acceptance of grants passed unanimously.
During the meeting the board also acknowledged a $1,000 donation from the Finn Family Giving Fund to support the Natrona County High School girls basketball team. Chair Derek Christopherson led the votes and thanked community donors and district staff for their presentations.
The board moved on to committee reports and policy first readings after taking the formal votes.
