Staff reported the eligible project cost of $7,054.05 and recommended a grant equal to half the project cost; the requested amount and board‑approved grant was $3,527.02. The Downtown Development Committee had unanimously recommended approval.
Parish Investments LLC applied for a Tier‑2 grant for work at 12 South Pine Street to replace two existing windows on the Second Street side with two 6‑by‑7 glass doors, plus the required masonry cutting and repair. The project increases access to a large outdoor area and will support future ADA‑accessible entrances; relevant project cost was $16,849 and the committee recommended the maximum Tier‑2 grant of $5,000. The board voted to approve the grant by voice vote.
Board members noted the grants are drawn from the town’s economic development budget and that the downtown improvement program is intended to help small downtown tenants and owners make targeted exterior investments. Staff encouraged applicants to coordinate with the fire and building departments as the work proceeds.
