Senate honors Maskeenahmet Regional High girls' soccer team as 2024 Division 2 champions

The Massachusetts Senate recognized the Maskeenahmet Regional High School girls' varsity soccer team as the 02/2024 MIAA Division 2 state champions during an informal session at the State House.
Senator Tarr, the Senate minority leader from Essex and Middlesex, introduced the team and thanked players, coaches and staff for representing public education in the Commonwealth. He called the student-athletes “great ambassadors” and praised their teamwork and sportsmanship. Senator Char offered congratulations and said the accomplishment is “something that you will cherish for your whole lives.”
The chamber listed the team's coaches and support staff — head coach Allison Lisonbee Lasseis; assistant Dan Buscaglia; Krista Marcoulier and Scott Marcoulier; manager Emerson Davis; and athletic trainer Tamar Changlian — and read a roster of players. The roster included captains Nicole Schneider, Riley Bovardi, Tegan Scully and Amanda Schneider and other team members acknowledged from the rostrum.
Senate members said citations would be presented to the team later in the brief ceremony. The recognition occurred at the start of the informal session; no legislative action was taken as part of the presentation.
The session then continued with procedural business on the calendar.
