City OKs two downtown restaurant liquor licenses; owners outline plans

The Woodland Park City Council on Feb. 6 approved two downtown liquor licenses and welcomed the owners at the meeting.
John Hugh, owner of 8465 Inc. DBA Joni’s Cafe and Bakery (110 E. Midland Ave.), said he and his partner plan to expand catering, keep regular daytime hours and offer occasional dinner pop-ups that would end around 8 p.m. The city clerk’s office confirmed the applicant completed a petition of need and desire, verified character/background and provided a lease (through June 30, 2034). Council approved the hotel-and-restaurant license unanimously.
Pimara Wipanngern (listed as "Pim" at the meeting) applied for a beer-and-wine license for Sushi Thai at 108 E. Midland Ave., which opened about a month earlier. She said the restaurant serves Thai and Japanese dishes, ramen, sushi and plans to serve beer and wine to accompany meals. The clerk verified application materials, public posting and petitions; council approved the beer-and-wine license unanimously.
Both applicants said they were local residents or recently moved to Woodland Park and thanked the council. The clerk noted final issuance will follow routine clerical steps once required documentation is complete.
