ANNAPOLIS, Md. — The Maryland House of Delegates adopted a favorable Health and Government Operations Committee report on House Bill 170 on Jan. 28, 2025, and ordered the bill to be printed for third reading, the chamber announced during its session.
The action came by voice vote after the committee report was read into the record. The clerk announced a favorable report on “House Bill 170 — Health: maternal and child health; population health improvement fund use.” The presiding officer asked if the chamber would adopt the favorable report; members responded in the affirmative and the clerk declared, “The ayes have it.” The bill was then ordered to be printed for third reading.
The committee report adoption advances HB 170 in the House legislative process but does not itself change law; it sends the bill to the full membership for consideration on third reading. The clerk recorded 123 members present earlier in the session during the roll call for quorum.
