Holmen School District launches high-school hate-and-bias response team, plans expansion to middle and elementary schools

At the Feb. 10 Holmen School District Board of Education meeting, board member Bridget Todd Robbins reported that the district’s hate-and-bias response effort has begun at the high school and will expand to lower grades in coming years.
"Jennifer Gimmer gave an update on the hate and bias response team. They officially launched last Monday at the high school after some extensive training this past year," Bridget Todd Robbins said, adding that the team will expand into the middle school in spring 2026 and to elementary schools the following spring. Robbins gave the update during a DEI committee report presented to the full board.
Robbins also said the district has started work on a parent-family liaison team as part of the community engagement work on the district’s long-range plan; the board discussed the role, purpose and future recruitment for that team but did not adopt a policy or formal charge at this meeting. The district has posted a new hate-and-bias reporting form on its website and in school hallways; board remarks indicated the form provides more specific reporting options than the district’s existing, broader reporting tool.
The board did not vote on any action related to the hate-and-bias response effort at the Feb. 10 meeting; the remarks were presented as a committee update and status report.
