Mayor Michelle Kaufusi and IT and communications staff demonstrated a redesigned, citizen-focused website and a companion app that will let residents access services, reserve facilities and receive real-time updates; officials invited feedback at breakout sessions.
Mayor Michelle Kaufusi and city staff introduced a redesigned Provo City website and a companion Provo City app intended to simplify resident interactions with city services.
Josh Errig, head of IT, said the new site uses a modern technology stack and that staff will add more online transactions over the coming months. Communications Director Nicole Martin said the redesign focuses on citizen-centered language rather than departmental jargon. The mayor demonstrated features and a live QR code for the app and invited attendees to use a breakout session to test the site and give feedback.
Officials highlighted common tasks that residents can now perform on the app: reserve pavilions, sign children up for recreational programs, order additional garbage cans and interact with 311 customer service. Staff said the site is intended to be iterative: residents can report problems or suggest improvements and the city will continue to update the site.
