The mayor thanked local donors for community additions including new safari animals at the mini golf course in Brookside Park and seasonal displays he said were created by Dr. Steve and Peggy Yoder. He credited Don and Jean Myers and Lloyd and Norma Weigand for donations supporting the mini golf and new pickleball courts respectively.
He said eight new pickleball courts at Brookside West are under construction and expected to be completed in 2025, that two new slides were added at the city pool, and that attendance at parks and facilities saw record years. The mayor reported Brookside Golf Course had its best revenue year “just under $1,000,000” with profit “more than a hundred and $50,000.”
The mayor said Congrove Park’s ball field was renamed Roseboro Field to honor John Roseborough and that the mayor’s office and donors erected a bronze plaque. He also noted the Myers Bandshell celebrated its 75th anniversary and had record attendance and fundraising in 2024.
