Adams County reviews aging plan and ADRC transition; will host regional behavioral health coordinating meeting in June

Kelly summarized activity from the Aging Advisory Committee and related bodies, saying the group reviewed the final version of the 2025–2027 aging plan and program activity from November and December 2024. The county also discussed the single-ADRC (Aging and Disability Resource Center) transition from a consortium to a single-county ADRC and said the ADRC supervisor position has been approved and is awaiting posting.

On governance, Kelly said committee members discussed combining the former ADRC governing board with the Aging Advisory Committee into a single committee and that the county is waiting for guidance from the state on whether the change can wait until the next cycle of board rules (expected in March/April). "We're waiting for some guidance from the state since this is kind of our transition year," Kelly said.

Kelly also provided an update on the Comprehensive Community Services regional coordinating committee (CWHP). She said the December 18 meeting included education from Laurie Martin, county updates and scheduling, and that Adams County will host the regional meeting in June. Adams County will provide fiscal responsibility for the contract while O'Shara County will continue as the contract liaison. Committee members agreed on a 2025 work plan and objectives.

Ending: The Aging Advisory Committee’s next meeting was set for March 19; the coordinated-services group’s next meeting was scheduled for April 8. The county is awaiting state guidance on formal governance changes and will proceed when that guidance is provided.
