Committee rejects Senate Bill 2,303 after amending ESA ratios

During discussion, members referred to the amended text handed out that morning and asked clerks to confirm line numbers for the changes. Some senators indicated they might speak on the measure on the floor even after the committee recommended against it. Senator O'Shea agreed to carry the bill despite committee opposition.
Because the committee adopted the amendment but ultimately voted not to advance the bill, the measure will not move to Appropriations from this committee. Any future action would require reconsideration or floor action.
