Commissioners expressed support for Hoskins and encouraged additional outreach to recruit more members.
Sean Riley of Public Works briefed the board on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC), noting state law (RCW 70A.205.1103 referenced in the meeting) creates the nine-member committee. Riley said two SWAC positions expire March 31, 2025, and that one agricultural-sector seat remains open. Commissioners expressed support for reappointing or appointing qualified local representatives, and noted a busier appointment cycle in 2026 as multiple terms will expire.
Staff also reported a Yale Valley Library District trustee opening that has been advertised for about six months; an applicant has come forward using an older application form that omitted residency-length questions. Commissioners signaled they are prepared to move forward with the applicant while staff confirmed outstanding application details.
