Kevin (parks maintenance staff) and Ashley (recreation staff) introduced their teams and credited field and facility improvements to their crews. Kevin highlighted lead staff including Shane Shaiki (right-of-way lead), Gilberto (Gilberto Fierro, east-side parks lead), Ishmael (supervisor), Mark (west-side lead) and Ralph (building maintenance). Kevin said the crews maintain medians, multiple parks and city facilities and credited them for improved field conditions.
Ashley summarized recreation highlights: expanded pop-ups and movies in the park (increasing from two events to a multi-week series), Beaumont Nights (seven-week concert/vendor series), a July 4 drone show with custom animations, ribbon cuttings for four parks, a learn-to-swim program (135 students taught in one summer with plans to serve about 440 students in the coming season) and a County of Riverside partnership to provide up to 150 swim‑lesson scholarships.
Other 2024 items included a new youth volleyball league, a Lucha Libre event and Day of the Dead programming, holiday parades and community volunteer days. Staff said they will publish videos and photos from the year and offered a site walk of Stewart Park after April when more visible progress will be on site.
Committee members offered public thanks to maintenance crews and program staff.
