Albany County accepts NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities funding to support MVP Arena solar and EV chargers

The presenter clarified that the solar array will be raised above the garage roof and parking will be retained beneath it, and that the EV chargers will be located on parking levels rather than on the roof; the array will be interconnected to utility lines.
Legislators asked clarifying questions about the project’s physical layout; after discussion a motion to accept the NYSERDA award and amend the county’s 2025 budget was made, seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
