At the Jan. 17 inspection and later site visits, city staff and the land bank identified structural concerns that led the land bank to notify the city to pursue emergency action, planning staff said. Erin Glennon, deputy planning director, told the commission she would follow up to obtain any site notes or inspection documentation the land bank or its contractors produced so the commission could review the record.
The item matters to the historic district because the property, at a prominent corner in downtown, had been part of an approved rehabilitation plan and grant‑funded work. Commissioners said the sudden demolition removed the corner building — and with it part of the historic streetscape — before the commission had an opportunity to review additional details.
