Parole revoked for Terrebonne man after guilty plea to battery

The Committee on Parole revoked the parole of Travis Tyler, DOC 744874, on Feb. 4 after Tyler pleaded guilty to committing simple battery, which the panel said violated his supervision conditions.
The panel read an allegation that Tyler committed the offense of simple battery, leading to his arrest by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office on Nov. 24, 2024; Agent Collins confirmed the charge was misdemeanor in nature. Tyler pleaded guilty to violating condition 4, which prohibits engaging in criminal activity.
Tyler told the panel he lost control after being sworn at and said he would work on anger management. The panel noted Tyler’s prior history and that his original charge in a prior case included aggravated battery. "I think you need some more classes to take and, especially anger management. And my vote today is gonna be to revoke," panel member Chuck Tillis said. Panel member Jerry Ladoux and Chair Cheryl Renata joined Tillis in voting to revoke, and the chair announced Tyler’s parole had been revoked.
Tyler was advised the panel’s decision revoked his parole. The committee recorded the vote and closed the hearing.
