Committee on Parole revokes Tyrone Dooley after evidence of firearm contact and fee arrears

The Committee on Parole revoked the parole of Tyrone Dooley (DOC #734638) on Jan. 15, 2025, after members concluded there was a preponderance of evidence that he violated supervision conditions by having contact with a firearm as a felon and by falling behind on supervision fees.

At a hearing at the Jefferson Parish facility, Renata read two allegations: that Dooley was arrested Aug. 16, 2024, by the U.S. Marshals Service and booked by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office for possession of a firearm by a felon (condition 5), and that he owed $1,494 in supervision fees (condition 10). Dooley pleaded not guilty to the firearm allegation and initially said he did not know a gun was present; he pleaded guilty to being behind on fees but later clarified details in questioning.

Dooley told the panel he had been called to turn himself in on a homicide allegation that was later dropped after surveillance review and that fingerprints and other investigation led to dismissal of gun-related charges; he denied possessing the firearm. Panel members asked about witness statements, fingerprint evidence and other investigative findings. Committee member Jerry Ladoux said she found a preponderance of evidence for violation of condition 5 and 10. Another member concurred. The panel recorded a vote to revoke parole.

"Yes. Mister DeJillie, I see evidence also that you've been violating condition number 5 and you've pled guilty to violating condition number 10. So today, sorry, your parole is being revoked," a panel member said, recording the revocation. The panel concluded and adjourned the Jefferson Parish hearing.
