The Committee on Parole revoked the parole of Mr. Jackson (DOC #322151) on Jan. 15, 2025, after he pleaded guilty to several supervision violations, the panel said.
During a hearing at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center, chair Cheryl Renata read violations that included failing to report weekly by phone (condition 2), moving without notifying his parole officer and absconding supervision (condition 3), arrests on April 3 and April 24, 2024 (including a hit-and-run and a stalking charge), leaving Odyssey House without notice (condition 9), and being $693 behind on supervision fees (condition 10). The record shows Jackson pled guilty to the stalking misdemeanor on Dec. 16, 2024, and acknowledged arrears.
Renata and other panel members noted Jackson is a sixth-felony offender and told him that, as a repeat offender, he understood reporting obligations. "You pled guilty. I don't know that that there's any excuse for criminal behavior while you're on parole supervision," one panel member said. After discussion, the panel members recorded votes to revoke parole.
The panel recorded a unanimous vote to revoke Jackson's parole; the chair instructed staff to process documentation and concluded the hearing.
Votes at a glance: unanimous vote to revoke parole; basis: guilty pleas and record of multiple violations including a recent guilty plea to misdemeanor stalking and absconding supervision.
