The Planning and Zoning Board on Jan. 28 approved a site plan (SP-2025-02) for an approximately 80,172-square-foot elementary school northwest of Seneca and Tanner Trail in Valley Center.
Staff and consultants reviewed the plan and discussed circulation, particularly drop-off and pick-up lanes, bus and parent-vehicle movements and the need for training and operational planning once the school opens. The applicants and school representatives confirmed the design includes separate bus and parent queuing lanes and that curbside procedures and staffing would be used to manage daily queuing. A representative said the building’s capacity would be about 480 students.
Board members and staff also discussed future roadway improvements in the area — including the potential for roundabouts and planned improvements on Seneca — and noted that final roadway lighting and traffic-control elements will be addressed in the engineering and construction phases. After public comment and technical discussion, the board approved the site plan on a voice vote.
