The Valley Center City Council awarded the bid for paving and drainage improvements in the Rio Bella addition to Pearson Construction and approved a related construction contract. Council also approved an amendment to the city's professional services agreement with engineering firm Garver for construction-phase services, not to exceed $97,400.
Eric Glover of Garver presented the bid results and identified Pearson Construction as the low bidder on the Rio Bella paving and drainage project. Council voted to award the bid and authorized the mayor or city administrator to sign the construction contract. The council then approved a separate amendment to Garver’s professional services agreement to provide staking, inspection and construction observation during the construction phase in an amount not to exceed $97,400, with authority for the mayor or city administrator to sign.
All motions carried on voice votes. Staff characterized the Garver amendment as construction-phase services (staking and observation) to support work awarded to Pearson Construction.
