LCAR re-elects Rep. Trevor Skorrell as chair; names Sen. Seth Bonekarts vice chair

The Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules (LCAR) elected Representative Trevor Skorrell to serve as chair for the coming biennium and selected Senator Seth Bonekarts as vice chair during its Feb. 6, 2025 meeting.
Senator Rob Plunkett of the Bennington District nominated Skorrell, saying the tradition has been to rotate the chair between chambers and noting Skorrell's prior service on the committee. Committee members approved the nomination by voice vote; no recorded opposition was indicated.
Senator Seth Bonekarts was nominated for vice chair and likewise approved by voice vote. The committee did not record numerical roll-call tallies for either election during the meeting.
The committee chair and vice chair set meeting agendas and manage LCAR's review schedule; members said the officers will lead the panel through a rule-review schedule the chair described as “very straightforward” for the day's business.
Attendance at the meeting included members who served on the prior LCAR; the committee noted continuity as it begins work for the new biennium.
