Development activity report: 1,519 building permits recorded in year; three pipeline subdivisions highlighted

Lexington County planning staff reported totals for building permits and pipeline projects during the meeting, saying 1,519 permits were issued countywide for the year and that the fourth quarter saw 419 permits.
Staff broke the year down by site-built and manufactured units: in October the county issued 146 site-built and 31 manufactured (177 total); November fell to 128 site-built and 34 manufactured (162 total); December returned near October levels with 145 site-built and 32 manufactured. Staff said manufactured permits for the quarter totaled 97 and the yearly total was 438, a slight increase over the prior year.
Staff also identified three pipeline subdivision projects: Fallow Road Track (8 lots on about 12.1 acres, District 1, developer Great Southern Homes); Henbit Drive (22 lots on roughly 8.5 acres in the town of West Columbia, District 8, developer Land Tech); and The Preserves at Cherokee Trail (62 lots on about 34 acres in the town of Lexington, District 7, developer Stanley Martin Homes). Staff noted these projects use the applicable town or county ordinances for each jurisdiction and named council members for the respective districts.
