Lexington County Council approves curbside collection, e-waste contract and reinstates municipal roads agreement

Lexington County Council on Jan. 28 approved three service agreements: a curbside collection contract for Solid Waste District 4 with Tyler Sanitation, an electronic-waste recycling agreement with Dynamic Life Cycle Innovations Incorporated, and a reinstatement of the county's roads and stormwater maintenance agreement with municipalities.

The approvals came during the meeting's committee reports and consent items, with motions introduced by council members and carried by voice vote. Councilwoman Kerig moved to approve the curbside contract starting April 1, 2025; the motion passed unanimously. Council later approved the e-waste recycling agreement, effective Jan. 29, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2025, with an estimated cost of $15,000. The council also voted to reinstate the roads and stormwater maintenance agreement with municipalities after discussion about past negotiations.
