The committee adjusted its draft meeting schedule to move one judge-review session from Thursday, Feb. 20 to Wednesday, Feb. 19, and confirmed other preparatory and follow-up dates ahead of the joint assembly vote on March 20.
Members also confirmed distribution of binders containing survey summaries and supporting materials. Legislative Council staff said extra binder copies are available for witnesses and that individual copies of each judge’s results will be provided to the judge in question. The committee noted room assignments for the public hearing are tentative, and staff expect Rooms 10 and 11 (or an equivalent) to be available for evening hearings.
Committee staff asked members to keep tentative meeting days open while staff check judges’ availability; members discussed consolidating follow-up meetings if not necessary. The chair asked members to make note of potential survey and statutory updates to consider after the current retention cycle.
The clerk will record votes during the committee’s deliberations in March, and staff will prepare written summaries of members’ floor remarks in advance of caucuses once votes are concluded.
