The Euclid Planning and Zoning Commission completed its annual organizational actions and approved several administrative items at the start of the meeting.
Commissioners nominated and accepted Commissioner Drake to continue as chair for another year; the nomination was moved by Commissioner Monroe and seconded by Commissioner Renfro. Commissioner Renfro nominated Jessica Weymouth for vice chair; Commissioner Swanson Sawyer seconded and the commission approved the nomination.
The commission approved minutes from the Sept. 10 meeting with one clerical correction (Mary Katherine Mason — "Katherine" spelled with a C). Commissioner Weymouth moved to approve the minutes; Commissioner Monroe seconded. The roll-call vote was unanimous in favor.
Under other business, the commission approved amended rules and regulations for the Planning and Zoning Commission after receiving the draft at a prior meeting. Commissioner Swanson Sawyer moved to approve the amendments; the motion passed on a roll-call vote. The commission also approved a zoning-code amendments Division Action Plan (described by staff as a recommended priority list of code updates and projects). Commissioner Weymouth moved to approve the plan as recommended by the commission; Commissioner Swanson Sawyer seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Director and staff reports noted department accomplishments from 2024 and an anticipated 2024 annual report to be released in mid-February. Staff also said a department outline of 2025 priorities will be shared with commissioners. The commission adjourned following the reports.
