Clinton County announces $100,000 in tourism grants to 17 local projects

Applicants applied, and the request was close to $170,000," a presenter said. "Unfortunately, we do not have that amount of money. But out of the 17 that were awarded, we had probably hour hour long debates... we were able to raise the funding from $75,000 to a hundred thousand." Award recipients and amounts announced by county staff were: Central Mountain ATV, $1,939; City of Lock Haven summer concert series, $5,000; City of Lock Haven arts and bike corridor, $4,000; Kettle Creek Festival, $2,800; Piper Aviation, $3,577; Quiet Oaks Campground, $3,200; Clinton County Arts Council (Lock Haven Jam), $6,200; Downtown Lock Haven Inc., $9,000; Q Cycling LLC, $9,000; Chestnut Grove Recreation Authority, $6,984; Millbrook Playhouse, $9,000; Sentimental Journey Fly-In, $6,000; Clinton County Historical Society (Wine in the Wilds), $2,100; Clinton County Fair and Speedway, $9,000; Revive Outdoors (trail races), $8,400; Pine Creek Seed Farm and Corn Maze, $9,000; and Spoo Cave Entertainment, $4,800.
The presenters thanked the review committee for expanding membership this year to get more diverse viewpoints during deliberations. No public debate or changes to the awards were recorded during the meeting.
County staff said the awards fund local events and tourism-related projects; specific contract terms, reporting requirements, or funding sources for each award were not specified during the announcement.
