The committee of the whole convened under Representative Wenninger’s chair and considered bills on calendar number 1. Representative Gillette moved that the committee recommend that House Bill 2008 do pass; the motion and a floor amendment to the bill were adopted in committee. "This is not a partisan bill in any way. The entire bill is a notary bill that helps with deed fraud," Representative Gillette said, adding that sponsors worked with the Secretary of State and local recorders to design the measure.
After the committee rose and reported, the House adopted the committee report and referred House Bill 2008 as amended to engrossing. The committee also directed that House Bill 2703 be retained on the calendar.
On third reading the House took recorded roll-call votes on three bills later in the session. House Bill 2032, described on the floor as an amendment to Section 23 10 91 of the Arizona Revised Statutes relating to workers’ compensation, passed by vote of 59 ayes, 0 nays, 1 not voting.
