Willis said the work will cover the wing of the building that has had repeated issues and include mechanical upgrades; the gym is not included in this contract.
Board member Mr. George moved to approve the agreement and Mr. Burke seconded the motion. The board approved the recommendation with an oral vote; no roll-call tally was recorded in the meeting transcript.
During discussion, a board member asked whether the project covers the entire school and whether the gym was included; maintenance staff member TJ confirmed the gym is not included and that the roofing will be TPO.
The superintendent and district staff characterized the decision as a way to preserve one-time grant funding rather than delay the work until the next fiscal year. No cost or contract price for the architectural agreement was specified in the public discussion.
