Committee approves moving rule provisions from IDAPA into statute in House Bill 54

"We asked them to do that if there were rules that would make sense to have them in the law," McCann said, describing work to move rules into statute so they appear in one place for readers and practitioners. She offered to walk lawmakers through sections and said department staff would answer technical questions.
A committee member moved to send House Bill 54 to the floor with a do-pass recommendation. There was no testimony in opposition recorded in the transcript and the motion passed by voice vote.
The committee will consider technical comments at later steps in the legislative process.
