City staff member Kevin told the council that “K Properties LLC has requested a zone change for 822 Moore Avenue from residential medium to local business.” He said the property is described as Block 4, Lot 6 of the Oakland Subdivision and is located behind 821 Frank. Kevin said the area includes adjacent commercial businesses such as Lufkin Pharmacy, Vintage Salon and Resale, First Choice Family Medicine and the closed CVS Pharmacy, and that the comprehensive plan designation for the property is institutional.
Staff recommended approval, and the Planning and Zoning Commission had unanimously recommended the request. With no members of the public stepping forward during the hearing, a councilmember moved approval, a second was offered and the council voted by voice to adopt the ordinance. The motion carried with all members saying “aye,” and no opposition was stated.
The ordinance is a second-reading approval changing the zoning classification for the address listed; no additional conditions or amendments were stated during the council meeting.
