Nicholas Alazakis, director of communications for Waukegan Public Schools, said the district will host a second immigration-rights meeting on Thursday, Feb. 13 at Juarez Middle School with a presentation from the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic.
Alazakis said the session will be streamed live. He described planned topics as including "the rights of individuals when interacting with immigration officials at home and in the public, legal protections that are available for families, [and] rights of students and families in schools regardless of immigration status." The announcement did not list speakers from the clinic by name, nor did it provide the meeting start time or details about how to access the live stream beyond saying it would be streamed online.
The district directed listeners to the district website for more information on joining the session.
