Trumbull County commissioners approve routine contracts, project bids and grant actions; several items tabled

The Board of Trumbull County Commissioners approved a series of routine administrative actions and project contracts during its public meeting, voting mostly unanimously to accept minutes, authorize vendor agreements, award construction contracts and set a public hearing for a sanitary-improvements project.

The board voted to: accept video recordings as the official minutes for earlier meetings; approve payment of $4,366.65 to the Trumbull County sheriff to compensate him for pre‑office training in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 311.01(d); enter a 12‑month municipal advisory agreement with MAS Financial Advisory Services, LLC for a $8,000 retainer; and approve an agreement with Mercy Health Youngstown, LLC (Saint Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital) to provide blood‑culture services for the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office to replace services formerly provided by St. Joseph Health/other local provider.

County commissioners also approved construction items, including two change orders for the TRU Larchmont Avenue project submitted by Shelley and Sands Inc. — change order No. 1 for $4,200 and change order No. 2 reducing the contract by $127,248.91, revising the contract total to $892,771.90 — and accepted a maintenance bond for Townsend Avenue storm‑drain work installed by TK Excavating and Grading LLC (20% maintenance bond of $79,881.49; final project cost $399,407.46).
