The Edgar County Board approved routine minutes and claims and passed a set of vendor authorizations during its January meeting.

The board approved minutes from Dec. 2 and Dec. 11, 2024, on a motion by Russ and a second by Dan. Claims against the county were approved after discussion; a motion to approve claims was made and recorded as carried. Claims for county board members were approved on a motion by Russ and a second by Bill.

Two substantive vendor-related actions passed: the board authorized the chairman to sign documents with Illinois Century Network to provide a point of presence at the new Edgar County Public Safety Center (moved by Andy, seconded by Russ; roll-call vote recorded as Yes for named members) and approved a letter of support/resolution for Frontier Communications’ application to the state broadband program (moved by Lisa, seconded by Andy; voice vote recorded as carried).
