The Pittsfield City Council voted unanimously to accept a mayoral communication withdrawing an order to accept conveyance and donation of land located at 50 Center Street and to place that communication on file.
Councilor Serra moved to accept the communication and place it on file. During debate, Councilor Warren said he supports the current procedural step but warned the council would revisit the issue if the carousel at the site is not operating this year or if control remains with an out‑of‑state family group. "Part of my job is explaining to the voters the reasoning for why I'm voting… 1, it had to be running this year. And 2, it had to be transferred out of the control of an out of town family group related group to a local group," Councilor Warren said. He added that if those conditions are not met, the council will return to the issue in the fall.
The council took no further action beyond accepting the communication and placing it on file.
Action: motion to accept the mayor’s communication and place it on file (moved by Councilor Serra) — approved unanimously.
