The Lynn Licensing Committee on Jan. 28 approved multiple taxi operator licenses, denied a previously tabled application and granted a late-night, takeout-only permit with a policing stipulation for a downtown business.
The committee approved the license application of Stalin Morden Cruz of 24 Mount Vernon Street after a motion to approve and a second; the committee voted in favor. A previously tabled applicant, Hector Lopez of 500 Essex Street, was denied following a motion to deny and a second; the chair announced the motion carried.
Councillor Field presented an application for 364 Linway (Crazy Buzzies) seeking a 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. closing for takeout only. Scott Stewart, representing the business, told the committee the location had experienced no incidents and that owners plan increased late-night police detail in spring months. “So far we’ve had no incidents over there. The business is doing well,” Stewart said. The committee approved the license with the stipulation that seating is closed from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. and that the business coordinate late-night police detail.
The committee also recorded motions to table other items and approved canning dates and special event requests, voting unanimously on those administrative items.
Ending
Clerk confirmed that approved licenses will be available at the clerk’s office; the committee will return other tabled items to future meetings as needed.
