Board members urged a cautious approach: Chris (board member) and others said staff should not broadly advertise that fiber can be run above ground and recommended handling each case individually with GoNet Speed customer service and field staff.
Several members noted that residents in multiple towns were unaware service was available. Board members requested that staff contact GoNet Speed marketing (Heidi, GoNet representative) to confirm what outreach and mailings are being done so residents receive clear sign‑up instructions and expectations about installation timelines and methods.
On grant closeout, the board said Consolidated will provide as‑built network drawings and an extended address list for the grant closeout. Consolidated reported that most previously flagged addresses proved ineligible or were nonresidential (bridges, quarries), but two residential addresses — one in Pittsford and one in Brandon — remain candidates for additional service and will be submitted for review. The chair said she will place the consolidated closeout reports and as‑builts on the board drive for members to examine and requested feedback.
No formal motions were taken on these operational items. The board asked staff to follow up with GoNet Speed about marketing and installation procedures and to post Consolidated's closeout documents for member review.
