Gadsden ISD recognizes first cohort of High Reliability Teacher Level 1 candidates

The Gadsden Independent Schools Board on Feb. 6 recognized teachers who completed Level 1 of the High Reliability Teacher (HRT) certification program and announced the district will support candidates as they progress to course 2.
Superintendent Dempsey introduced the recognition and said the program aligns with district priorities, including effective teaching and a guaranteed, viable curriculum. Professional-development leader Ms. Lugo described the HRT certification as a multi-level initiative comprising online coursework, recorded lessons, self-assessments, goal-setting and student feedback. "The HRT program has made a significant impact on my instruction," Lugo read from a teacher testimonial during the presentation.
District leaders noted the program supports teacher growth and specifically highlighted work at Santa Teresa Elementary, where a high number of HRT candidates are teaching. A list of named teachers from multiple campuses was read during the meeting; administrators said some candidates were unable to attend in person but would be recognized remotely.
The board applauded the cohort, and members including Vice President Rodriguez and others praised the teachers' dedication to professional growth.
The recognition does not include a board vote; it was an informational/ceremonial item on the agenda.
