Rosemont High PE assistant Hannah McVay says she is leaving for a base job

Hannah McVay, a PE assistant and coach at Rosemont High School, said she is leaving the school, citing financial reasons and an upcoming pregnancy, and that she has accepted an administrative assistant position with an ammunitions flight on base. "Yes. So I'm choosing to leave, Rosemont High School mostly for financial reasons. I am currently pregnant, and, I need to start looking at my future and supporting my baby and things like that," McVay said on the school's recorded morning bulletin.

The announcement came during the bulletin's segment in which students and staff shared memories and well-wishes. McVay described the new role as "an admin assistant, which is a fancy word for, like, a secretary, for a ammunitions flight on base." She said she joined the district in 2013 and that coaching and extracurricular activities have been among her favorite memories: "My favorite memories are definitely going to be coaching for the school, all the outside extracurriculars that I've been a part of, since I started in this district in 2013."

Students and colleagues responded with brief tributes. Miranda, identified on the bulletin by first name, said, "Miss Hannah, we will miss her. That's all I really gotta say. She will be in our hearts still," and called McVay her favorite person at the school. Mr. Norman offered a staff farewell: "Miss Hannah, we wish you the best. We're gonna miss you, but know that you're gonna do great things in your new endeavor, and, we look forward to seeing you sometime." Cindy told McVay, "Hannah Banana. I love you, and I wish you the best of luck. And, don't stay a stranger. Come back and see us." Other students recalled travel and coaching moments, including volleyball tournaments and Mammoth trips.

The bulletin did not announce a final work date for McVay or any immediate staffing plan for her responsibilities. No formal statement from Rosemont High School administration was included in the recorded segment.
