At Tuesday’s meeting the council approved four board appointments, acknowledged minutes and bills, and granted a limited malt-beverage permit for the city’s Winterfest event.
The council appointed Benjamin Bell to the Urban Renewal Board for a five-year term; Mickey Cox to the Historic Preservation Commission for a three-year term; Rowdy Dean and Jill Bass to three-year terms on the Planning and Zoning Commission; and Trudy Lim to a three-year term on the Revolving Loan Fund Board. Council Member Wyden moved to appoint the candidates as listed; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The council also acknowledged the Jan. 21 meeting minutes and approved the list of bills following a motion and second. On the consent agenda, the council granted a limited malt-beverage permit for Winterfest at the Bear Pond (the event is scheduled for a Saturday and includes fundraising activities such as chili service and curling), and the permit passed on voice vote. Parks and Recreation staff described Winterfest activities and said weather and snow conditions could affect programming.
