Wilt described several large community donations, including a delivery from the Village of North Riverside, a donation drive called “Fill the Truck” run by Riverside Foods that yielded items valued at about $67.67 (transcript figure), and other contributions from groups and individuals. The supervisor said the pantry received several “birthday party kit” donations — cake mixes, frostings, decorations and disposable pans — which staff set aside on a shelf for clients to take as needed instead of including them in regular tote bags.
Wilt told trustees she has a quote for an appraisal of the township building for insurance purposes from a firm she described as experienced and reputable; the quote was under $2,000 and within her spending authority, and she plans to obtain additional quotes for building improvements. She also noted she had been ill during the holidays and asked trustees to raise questions if she missed any details.
The board recorded no formal vote on the pantry report or the appraisal at the meeting; Wilt said she would proceed to obtain additional quotes as authorized within her spending limit.
The meeting’s warrants later included a $398.95 food pantry warrant that trustees ratified on a roll-call vote.
