The motion carried on a roll call vote: Councilmember Fernandez — yes; Councilmember Skirico Guditsky — yes; Councilmember Dez Nash — yes; Deputy Mayor Mary Lorraine — yes; Mayor Newsome — yes.
The measure adopted by the council is a formal expression of no confidence and does not itself remove Sheriff Corpus from office. During the meeting the city clerk clarified that the resolution in the agenda packet constitutes the council's vote of no confidence and that it “doesn't specifically mention Measure A.”
