A committee member reported surveying county farm fields and identified a tile hole on property north of County Farm Road near an old homestead that needs repair before the coming season.
Scott said he toured fields, reviewed where seeding needs to be done and found a tile hole on the recent property just north of County Farm Road “next to the old, home.” He told the committee he would contact the contractor and had a photo available for review. Members agreed the repair should be authorized and noted the expected cost might be modest — “maybe a thousand bucks,” a farmer the speaker had contacted estimated — but that a larger-scale project would require bringing the issue back to the full board.
The speaker also said he obtained copies of a tile map for field reference and gave one copy to county staff for filing. The committee asked staff to proceed with the contractor contact and to report back at the next meeting if further approvals are needed.
