Chair recommends approval of conditional use to reduce shed setback; order sent to county development committee

The meeting chair called the ZHL recommendation meeting to order Feb. 5 and said they had no public comments and had adopted the minutes from the Jan. 15, 2025 recommendation meeting.

The chair announced a recommendation on LAHA petition 24 o 85 and said, “I am making a recommendation to approve the request for conditional use to reduce the interior side setback for an existing shed, from the permitted 3 feet to approximately 2 feet.” The chair said the shed has “existed for at least 5 years” and that the recommended conditional approval would run for five years or would expire if the shed is more than 50% destroyed. The chair said the signed order will be transmitted to the county development committee with an approval recommendation.

No public commenters addressed the meeting and the chair said there was no old or new business to consider before adjourning.

The recommendation from the ZHL recommendation meeting is advisory: the chair transmitted the signed approval recommendation to the DuPage County development committee, which the chair identified as the next body to receive the petition for further consideration.
