Clay County commissioners voted to approve the county’s internet service contract with BluePeak following staff review of competitive quotes.
Staff presented three options: a BluePeak 1-gigabit symmetric service at $125 per month with no equipment fee and a $100 installation charge and month-to-month cancellation; Midco proposals at lower speeds with multi-term price breaks; and other options that offered different price/term tradeoffs. Staff recommended BluePeak for its higher symmetric speed and simpler termination terms.
A commissioner moved and seconded approval of the BluePeak service; the motion carried on an affirmative voice vote. Staff said fiber would be brought into the building by the provider and that Midco’s pricing varied by contract length; the meeting record includes no amendment to the vendor terms.
The county will complete contract paperwork and schedule installation with the selected provider.
