Semiannual Wildwood update: development on pace, infrastructure milestones noted

The commission received a semiannual update from Wildwood development representatives on Jan. 22 covering project status, recent site plans, building permits and open‑space accounting.
Michael Wettingell and other Wildwood representatives reported the development’s original approvals cover about 884.8 acres and a blended allowable density of 3,792 units; as of the update the project had recorded 1,596 certificates of occupancy. Recent progress included approved site plans and building permits for phases such as Valley Park (Phase 2) and a new phase of lake apartments; 65 certificates of occupancy were recorded since the last update, primarily for Valley Park.
Wildwood staff noted Village and Challenger Commons tasks: Challenger Commons design is being finalized and a focused perimeter buffer plan for portions of the PUD that border non‑PUD properties is under development. Staff advised that, as sections approach unit triggers in the PUD, internal traffic studies and adequate public facilities (APF) issues will be required for subsequent sections. Wettingell said Wildwood will provide future semiannual reports and meet with staff and neighborhood representatives as the project advances.
The commission accepted the informational update; no formal action was required.
