Senate introduces S.55, S.56 and S.57; first readings referred to committees
Summary
The Senate held first readings for three bills: S.55 (reference-based pricing for hospital services), S.56 (create an Office of New Americans) and S.57 (standard offer program). Each bill was given its first reading and referred to the appropriate committee.
The Vermont Senate on Feb. 10 held first readings and referred three bills to committee.
S.55, "an act relating to reference based pricing for hospital services," was introduced by Senators Hardy and Gulick and referred to the Committee on Health and Welfare for consideration. S.56, "an act relating to creating an office of new Americans," was introduced by Senator Ulick and others and referred to the Committee on Government Operations. S.57, "an act relating to the standard offer program," was introduced by Senator Watson and others and referred to the Committee on Natural Resources and Energy.
Each bill received its first reading on the floor and was formally assigned to the respective committee; no floor debate or votes on these bills were recorded during the session.
The presiding officer opened the session and called for announcements before taking the first readings. Subsequent committee meetings were scheduled during the same day for other committees, including Senate Finance, Appropriations, Government Operations and Institutions, as noted by members during announcements.
