Superintendent Dr. Brennan updated the board on student‑centered programs and communications initiatives, including the recent launch of a district app, an upcoming Parent University and multiple student engagement events.
Dr. Brennan credited Brian Petrovsky and his team for the app launch and said the district recorded "just over 2,000 installs" in the first days following rollout. The superintendent described the app as a push‑style communications tool to supplement the district website.
The board heard about Parent University planned for Feb. 26, which will offer sessions on topics including artificial intelligence in classrooms, student well‑being and resilience, elementary curriculum overviews and preparation for high school. Dr. Brennan said the event includes supervised K–5 activity rooms so parents can attend sessions with their children present.
Staff recapped a recent high‑school career fair organized by Dr. Tripani and team, which included panels of professionals and robust attendance. The district also reported on a two‑day student advisory program in which high‑school students visited middle schools to present on topics such as peer pressure, time management and navigating middle school; staff and board members described these presentations as highly engaging.
Board members praised the student presenters and staff organizers for their work; no formal actions were taken. The superintendent said registration for Parent University was open and staff will promote the event further.
