Officials credit CTAE expansion with gains in CCRPI readiness and pathway completions

Glynn County Schools staff told the board on Feb. 6 that growth in Career, Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) enrollment helped boost the district’s secondary readiness indicators on the CCRPI.
Mr. Benson and other staff presented data showing the district’s 2024 secondary readiness score was 83.1, up 4.1 points from 2023 and about 9.8 points higher than the state average for 2024. Staff attributed part of the improvement to increased CTAE enrollment and pathway participation: Benson said enrollment at the career/college academy rose by nearly 22% from fall 2023 to fall 2024 and that non-traditional students, including homeschool students, doubled in that period.
District staff described steady increases across dual-enrollment participation, work-based learning and End of Pathway Assessment (EOPA) participation and pass rates. Benson said the number of students completing pathway assessments rose and the pass rate improved by about 10 percentage points; the district added four new pathways at the career academy last year including workforce- and career-ready options, heavy equipment operations, dental science and fire science/EMR.
Staff said these changes have driven higher pathway-completion counts, higher EOPA participation and contributed to overall CCRPI gains. Board members asked clarifying questions about the new pathways and their labor-market alignment; staff said they have conducted outreach and open houses to raise awareness.
