Senate Bill 2,369 — a proposal to exempt nonprofit organizations from paying sales tax on revenues they receive when holding events in public buildings — remains pending in the Finance and Taxation Committee while members await an amendment.
Senator Rummel told the committee that Senator Clary provided suggested amendment language derived from the Tax Department, and that the proposed text had been sent to legislative counsel for review. "That suggested language came from the tax department and is being taken up to the legislative council for final review," Rummel said.
Committee members did not take a vote and did not adopt changes during the meeting. Members said they would wait for the legislative council’s review of the amendment language before further action.
